Yes, highly compatible! The mounting surface must be flat, and drilling is required for installation. Our rack is universally engineered to fit a wide range of platforms, from standard Sprinter/Transit/Promaster vans to large custom rigs and trailers. It can be directly integrated with many standard attached roof racks (like Orion) or van tracks.
Are the solar panels included? Can I buy justthe slide panel, or do I need the whole rack?
Solar panels are NOT included. We specialize in engineering and selling the ultra-heavy-duty sliding/tilt hardware systems, allowing you to choose the perfect solar brands for your energy goals. You are purchasing the complete structural rack system designed to mount your panels securely.
What is the maximum size and weight of solar panels I can use? Can I use 200W, 250W, or 400W+ panels?
It fits almost all standard 200W to 250W panels with a width ranging from 27.6" to 31.5" (700mm to 800mm), such as Renogy, Rich Solar, Eco-Worthy, Longi, etc. For example, the Renogy Bifacial Solar Panel 250W (60.9 x 30 x 1.2 inches) fits perfectly! The maximum weight capacity is 44 lbs (20kg) per panel.
When the lower panel is slid in and entirely shaded underneath, will it cause any electrical or battery issues?
Not at all. When the system is retracted for driving, the lower panel acts as a protected standby unit. To maximize efficiency and prevent shading power drops, we highly recommend wiring the upper and lower panels in parallel or using a dual-channel MPPT controller. This ensures that even when fully shaded, your top panel still pumps 100% maximum power into your battery system.
How difficult is the installation? Is it really a 30-minute job?
For a standard DIY enthusiast or a professional van builder, the basic mechanical assembly takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, because every van's roof layout, wiring route, and existing rack system vary, we suggest allocating a relaxed afternoon to ensure perfect alignment, smooth sliding calibration, and secure weatherproofing.
